Hops
Hops are the flower of plants that make beer, a growing industry as craft beer becomes more popular. Nelson/Tasman is the hop growing centre of New Zealand as the warm summers and regular rainfall provide perfect growing conditions. Around 20 hop varieties are grown locally with unique qualities and flavours.
Locations
Hop gardens are in small regional towns around Motueka, such as Riwaka, Tapawera and the Moutere Valley.
